Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard has long been defined by iconic landmarks, yet a new chapter is being written with Dolce Vita. Designed by renowned architect Robert Silke in partnership with Berman Brothers Group, this development blends Italian sophistication with Cape Town’s coastal rhythm. It is not only a striking piece of architecture but a civic gesture that will enrich both residents and the wider Green Point community.
Robert Silke is one of South Africa’s most celebrated architects, widely recognised for reshaping the Atlantic Seaboard’s skyline. With an Art Deco-inspired approach, his work includes standout projects such as The Point Mall, The Flamingo, and now, Dolce Vita. Each of these developments contributes to the area’s architectural renaissance. Beyond residential design, Silke has also delivered significant commercial and hospitality projects, all characterised by bold creativity and sensitivity to context. His outlook shapes his approach to Dolce Vita, elevating the development beyond a residential building into a cultural marker for Cape Town.
Silke describes the invitation from Berman Brothers as an opportunity “to reinvent the Dolce Vita, to give it a continental identity.” This philosophy infuses the building with an elegance that feels both globally sophisticated and rooted in place. The design nods to Cape Town’s Art Deco legacy while embracing contemporary lifestyle demands.
Dolce Vita offers 65 residences ranging from studios to spacious three-bedroom apartments, many framed by views of Lion’s Head. Yet the project is more than private living. As Silke notes, “Every member of the public gets to interact with this building at ground-floor level.” With activated retail and hospitality spaces, Dolce Vita contributes to the vibrancy of Green Point, creating a civic landmark where private design meets public benefit. Dolce Vita will be home to a new five-star Kove Collection hotel, ensuring residents enjoy access to premium amenities such as a rooftop restaurant, pool terrace, spa, and gym. This thoughtful mix transforms the development into a lifestyle hub that combines the ease of home with the indulgence of hospitality.
